Integrated assessment models (IAM) underpin much of the climate change mitigation pathways that are used in IPCC AR6 and other major assessments. Although the desirability of the futures imagined largely depends on the people affected by such pathways, wide stakeholder input is often missing from modelling studies, reducing the breadth of perspectives that are represented in the assessments. On the other hand, stakeholder engagement is often viewed as too complex and hard to implement.

The EU Horizon Europe project DIAMOND is organising a webinar on “Demystifying stakeholder participation in integrated assessment modelling and scenarios”. The webinar is especially intended for modellers using, as well as social scientists working with, IAMs and other climate-economy models, and aims to provide an opportunity for exchanging practices and sparking potential synergies and initiatives on the topic.
