During the Fifteenth IAMC Annual Meeting held online last 29 November – 2 December 2022, the Integrated Assessment Modeling Consortium was proud to honour **Jarmo KIKSTRA (IIASA)** with the **Early Career Researcher** **Award** for his paper Kikstra, J. S., Vinca, A., Lovat, F., Boza-Kiss, B., van Ruijven, B., Wilson, C., Rogelj, J., Zakeri, B., Fricko, O., Riahi, K. (2021). **[Climate mitigation scenarios with persistent COVID-19-related energy demand changes](https://doi.org/10.1038/s41560-021-00904-8)** *Nature Energy*, 1–10 (2021). Jarmo Kikstra, a researcher jointly associated with the Integrated Assessment and Climate Change and the Transformative Institutional and Social Solutions research groups of the IIASA Energy, Climate and Environment Program, was specifically awarded for his [paper on COVID-19 recovery scenarios](https://iiasa.ac.at/news/oct-2021/how-recovery-from-covid-19s-impact-on-energy-demand-could-help-meet-climate-targets) with diverging levels of energy demand practices. He has been working on Integrated Assessment Modeling for just three years and has quickly established a record of diverse contributions to the field. His rapidly growing contributions go well beyond this contribution on COVID-19 recovery scenarios, with research covering the [global assessment of decent living gaps](https://iiasa.ac.at/news/sep-2021/how-much-energy-do-we-need-to-achieve-decent-life-for-all) for multidimensional poverty, [the social cost of carbon](https://iiasa.ac.at/news/sep-2021/putting-price-on-climate-change), and a material contribution to the IPCC Working Group 3 climate scenario assessment.
