UCL’s Bartlett Faculty released “Finance for the climate: charting a complex relationship”, an online publication investigating the dangers, but also the opportunities, posed by the tight interconnection between the global financial system and the climate crisis. Even if the goals of the global financial system are not yet aligned with our climate goals, it is possible to draft a perspective of action, namely redirecting financial flows towards activities that protect and restore the natural world will be crucial to tackling the climate crisis. The publication suggests that building an interdisciplinary research-policy agenda must be the starting point to adequately remove current obstacles on the way ahead.
