UT-ORII Fellow: Sr. Economics and Employment Modeler

Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking a Senior Economics and Employment Modeler to lead studies on the economic and employment impacts of policies and market actions aimed at expanding the global bioeconomy and achieving carbon neutrality, with a focus on the Southeastern United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead studies on local and regional economic and employment impacts related to bioeconomy and carbon neutrality initiatives.
• Develop innovative methodologies to incorporate human capital into economic and employment models.
• Collaborate with social scientists and political economists to integrate empirical data on labor availability and workforce training needs.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in economics, environmental science, or a related field.
• Experience in economic modeling, particularly concerning employment and workforce development.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in relevant software tools.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
