The Climate and Sustainability Program at KAPSARC in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is hiring two postdoctoral researchers. If you are finishing your PhD soon or have graduated recently, and are looking for an exciting opportunity to work closely with leading experts, engage in cutting-edge research, and contribute to policy formulation, then take a close look at the newly launched KAPSARC Postdoctoral Program. The Postdoctoral Program is an exceptional opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research and foster interdisciplinary collaboration in the dynamic field of energy economics, policy, and sustainability. As a member of the Program, you will have the privilege to delve deep into energy markets, evaluate the efficacy of policy interventions, or actively contribute to the development of economic models that pave the way for a sustainable future (or even build a model entirely by yourself)! Through hands-on engagement with real-world projects, you will work alongside esteemed scholars and industry experts, benefiting from their expertise and expanding your own intellectual horizons.

Criteria: Applicants should have recently obtained or be close to obtaining a Ph.D. in Energy Economics, Public Policy, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields; demonstrated expertise in independent research, quantitative methods, qualitative methods, hybrid methods, and/or relevant software tools and datasets; and excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

The Climate and Sustainability program conducts research and analyses in the areas of climate economics, climate change policies, and environmental sustainability. The program focuses on climate mitigation, climate adaptation, climate finance, climate policy instruments, carbon management, energy efficiency, clean technologies, and sustainable goals. The program also aims to develop and utilize various analytical tools and methods to assess climate change mitigation policies and measures and the different pathways for achieving global and national climate goals.

King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) is an advisory think tank working in the areas of energy economics and sustainability providing services to entities and authorities in the Saudi energy sector. Based in Riyadh, we conduct applied research addressing domestic and global energy challenges. KAPSARC develops modeling and empirical policy analyses. Their work is published in peer-reviewed journals and supports advisory projects with the Saudi energy sector.
