Postdoctoral position: Energy system modeling and low carbon transition, China

The Climate Change Research Center at the School of Economics and Management, Harbin institute of technology (Shenzhen), is looking to fill one to two full-time postdoctoral positions. The postdoctoral researchers will work on the construction and application of energy-environment-economy system models, macro policy simulation and assessment of China’s energy and climate change, low-carbon transition pathways for Chinese cities, and other related research.

The postdoc will work under the direct supervision of associate Professor Dr. Junling Liu, and will be involved in national, Guangdong province, and Shenzhen city level low-carbon projects.

Desired Qualifications

  • PhD in management, economics, environmental science, or related fields obtained within the past three years, under the age of 35, and capable of full-time postdoctoral research.
  • Published (or accepted) at least one paper as the first author in SCI/SSCI journals.
  • Fluency in R and Python preferred. Experience in energy system modeling is advantageous.

Compensation and benefits

  • Pre-tax annual salary ranges from 280,000 to 320,000 RMB (equivalent to USD 42,000-48,000).
  • Outstanding postdoctoral researchers at Harbin Institute of Technology will receive a one-time maximum award of 150,000 RMB (equivalent to USD 22,500).
  • Offer Shenzhen talent apartments with rents significantly lower than market prices.
