Climate Analytics is currently seeking a new Deputy Head of Climate Policy and Senior Mitigation pathway analyst who will be responsible for guiding the team’s work on mitigation pathways analysis, energy modelling, and related quantitative work, and lead the work in each of these areas.

Climate Analytics is a global climate science and policy institute engaged around the world in driving and supporting climate action aligned to the 1.5°C warming limit. It connects science and policy to empower countries on the frontlines of the climate crisis in international climate negotiations and inform national planning with targeted research, analysis, and support.

Job Description

The Climate Policy Team is engaged with a large and exciting variety of projects, among them the flagship project “Climate Action Tracker”, and continuously develops new research and applied policy projects. In its work, the team has a major interest in 1.5°C compatible economies, energy-system transformation towards renewables and fossil-fuel phase-out strategies at international, national, sub-national and sectoral levels, tracking and assessing climate action at international, national, sub-national and sectoral levels, combining both qualitative and quantitative scientific and policy expertise, approaches, data and models.

The team works collaboratively with partners across different projects and in different parts of the world and supports Climate Analytics regional offices in climate policy analysis, development and modelling.

With Climate Analytics expanding regional presence through offices in the Caribbean, Africa, South Asia, the US and Australia, the position offers ample opportunities to work across various regions, collaborating with impactful countries and sectors. The team is international and participates in a great network of partner institutes and stakeholders.
