In this short video, Nebojsa Nakicenovic (IIASA and Vienna University of Technology) expresses his gratitude for the Lifetime Achievement Award received during the 14th IAMC Annual Meeting.
Naki recalls the first steps moved by the Consortium in 2006, and its official foundation in 2007. From that time, IAMC has evolved and now includes almost seventy modelling teams from all over the world. “IAMC’s role to provide policy advice on how to achieve climate neutrality and net-zero emissions – says the scientist – is outstanding especially in these challenging times including Covid-19 pandemic, climate crisis, and opportunities and dangers of digital revolution”.
