The Thirteenth Annual Meeting of the Integrated Assessment Consortium (IAMC) is approaching!

IAMC 2020 will be held online on December 1st-4th, 2020. The meeting is open to researchers from organizations involved in integrated assessment modelling and their research collaborators. More than 300 participants are expected at the conference, which will host over 40 posters and 100 oral presentations.

Plenary sessions have been announced today.

On December, 1st Plenary Session 1 will focus on IAM research role in IPCC’s assessment (AR6). In this session, we will present some key themes in the current work, including the assessment of long-term scenarios, the climate impacts and the
assessment of feasibility of emission reduction.

Plenary Session 2 we will look into the benefits of mitigation with two presentations covering the social costs of carbon and estimates of avoided damages.

On December, 4th Plenary Session 3 will be dedicated to Net-zero emission targets: this year several countries, including the EU and China, announced net-zero emission targets for the middle of the century. Also Joe Biden mentioned in his climate plan the ambition to reduce the USA emission to net-zero in 2050. In this session, several speakers discuss the implications, feasibility and prospects of these targets.

Parallel sessions will address a wide range of topics, from international and national climate policies to how to reduce energy demand, from sustainable development to the impacts of COVID-19 and the crisis recovery packages.

The Meeting will host six Poster sessions, offering a unique opportunity for in-depth conversations about new work.

IAMC Awards will be announced at the end of the Meeting: Lifetime Achievement Award, Award for
Extraordinary Contributions to the Field of IAM, and Best Poster Award. Do not miss this opportunity to
acknowledge and congratulate together excellence within our field.
