It is designed to be open to participation by all parties and to be multidisciplinary.
Last June 8, the SBSTA Chair organized an information event to discuss the impacts that the COVID-19 pandemic has on science. Discussions considered the following issues (see also the meeting concept note): What are the impacts of COVID-19 on greenhouse gas emissions and the climate system? What are the impacts of COVID-19 on the scientific community? What are the options and opportunities to enable scientific support for a sustainable recovery and for knowledge sharing?
Elmar Kriegler (PIK) contributed to the meeting with a talk on “COVID-19 Implications for Scenarios and Modelling and Considerations Moving Forward: Perspectives from the Integrated Assessment Modelling Community“.
