Today representatives of key EU climate projects participated in the webinar “General discussion on implication of COVID for climate policy modelling“.
This event was intended to exchange information, encourage debate and spur cooperation between projects as regards accounting for COVID-19 impacts with special focus on:
Sharing perspective and expectations from the Commission on the socio-economic and environmental analysis of COVID-19 impacts that could contribute to shaping of the EU follow up policies.
Exchanging information on ongoing and upcoming work of the projects on the socio-economic and environmental analysis of COVID-19 impacts.
Exchanging experiences on topics that will be defined and prioritised together with the participants to get insights on current state of the art, and the need for future developments.
The discussion focussed on macro-economic and financial impacts, structural changes in the economy, changes in consumption patterns and lifestyles, considerations on equity and implications thereof for projects’ work, such as scenario setting and modelling capabilities.
The webinar was organised by the by DG Research and Innovation and the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME)
