Dear IAMC community,
We are pleased to share two community updates: an invitation to participate in the IAM diagnostic pilot exercise and a reminder of the upcoming ICONICS Q&A sessions on the SSP Scenario Evolution Process.
Invitation: IAM diagnostic exercise
The Scientific Working Group on Model Diagnostics and Evaluation is launching a pilot exercise to develop a community-standard diagnostic framework for Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs). Through a set of stylized scenario runs based on a common carbon price pathway, participating teams will help strengthen model transparency, comparability, and validation — contributing to a planned high-level joint publication.
If you are interested in taking part, please find further information and details on how to join here.

Reminder: ICONICS Q&A Sessions on the SSP Scenario Evolution Process
Join a Q&A session on the Scenario Evolution Process during the first week of March to stay updated and ask questions on the process of SSPs evolving. These Q&As follow the webinar ‘Launching the Scenario Evolution Process (SEP)’.
The SEP is a community-led initiative to critically reassess, adapt, and potentially transform the SSPs to a framework that supports research on resilient, equitable, and sustainable development and develop socioeconomic scenarios that have applicability beyond the climate change domain.
To register for one of the Q&A sessions, please use the links below:
2 March - 09:00 CET/Vienna - Zoom: Registration link
5 March - 18:00 CET/Vienna - Zoom: Registration link
If you can’t join the sessions, consider filling out the survey here to inform the priorities this process could consider.
Best regards,
IAMC Secretariat
